The Carousel

The carousel, or merry-go-round, is a traditional fairground ride at Flamingo Land. It has a big circular roof which is sat on a central pole.

The structure of the roof looks a bit like a bicycle wheel because it spins round and it has spokes coming out from the centre. The colours make it look a bit like a circus tent.

There is a circular base. There are lots of poles between the two wheels with horses attached, which go up and down. You can see that they are attached to an axle which has 'U' bends in it. This makes the horses go up and down.
