Food Information: Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates com in two forms:
1) Sugar
2) Starch and cellulose

Carbohydrates act as a protein sparer, allowing protein to be used for growth, repair and maintenance whilst carbohydrates provide energy.

Sugar is found in jam, honey, treacle and as an additive to many other foods. Starch is found in bread, flour , pastry and potatoes.
